Welcome to the Roar Racing Steward’s Report, where we look at the feature races and shine a light on anything reported by the steward’s at the previous run of each starter.

ALL AGED STAKES – RANDWICK R8

  1. Zaaki – nothing to report
  2. Lost and Running – From the outside barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
  3. Private Eye – Near the 600m, Shelby Sixtysix crowded onto Private Eye, which was checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a small, superficial abrasion on the back of the near-foreleg.
  4. Cascadian – Held up for clear running from the 500m until the 300m.
  5. Mazu – nothing to report
  6. Bandersnatch – nothing to report
  7. Ho O Amazon – nothing to report
  8. Kolding – Leaving the 1300m was checked when crowded for room.
  9. Roch ‘N’ Horse – nothing to report
  10. Electric Girl – nothing to report
  11. Jacquinot – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages and got its head up. Near the 1400 metres was eased from the heels of Bank Maur. Post-race endoscopy detected a degree of internal exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage that may have affected the horses racing performance. A veterinary clearance is required prior to being permitted to race again.
  12. Giga Kick – On jumping was bumped by Lofty Strike, which shifted in. Shortly after the start raced in restricted room and became unbalanced momentarily when crowded for room. After being taken in by In Secret near the 600m, he became unbalanced for some distance due to pressure on its hindquarter from Shelby Sixtysix, which was racing to its inside.
Jacquinot found himself in the steward’s report for multiple reasons in the Australian Guineas.

CHAMPAGNE STAKES – RANDWICK R7

  1. Don Corleone – nothing to report
  2. Militarize – nothing to report
  3. Amur – scratched
  4. Tom Kitten – Began awkwardly and from its wide barrier then was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 150m was inconvenienced after receiving slight contact by Tannhauser, which shifted in. N.Rawiller was reprimanded for using his whip on consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
  5. Bases Loaded – nothing to report
  6. Make a Call – Near the 1300m was bumped. After passing the 400m, laid in momentarily and became awkward near the heels of Townsend, which shifted out marginally. Make A Call continued to lay in under pressure in the straight. Just prior to the finish line was brushed by Tom Kitten, which laid in.
  7. Felix the Scat – Slow to begin. Approaching the 1000m when the pace of the race slackened, obliged to shift wider on the track.
  8. Kintyre – nothing to report
  9. Townsend – nothing to report
  10. Tannhauser – Began only fairly. Near the 150m its rider was required to stop riding and straighten when the colt shifted in and made slight contact with Tom Kitten.
  11. Pier Pressure – After beginning only fairly, then was hampered after being bumped by Maharba, which shifted in. From a wide barrier Pier Pressure then was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
  12. Mah Ali – Began awkwardly and from the outside barrier then was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
Pier Pressure didn’t have things go all her own way in The Sires. Can she turn the tables on Militarize?

THE QUOKKA – ASCOT R8

  11. Shades of Rose – As the start was effected, turned its head and as a result began awkwardly. A short distance after the start raced tight between horses, and was consequently bumped heavily and taken out across heels. This resulted in Shades Of Rose being checked.

Overpass had nothing go right at the end of last preparation. Can he pull off a first-up sting in The Quokka?
