Given this is a race at level weights for mares, with a 1.5kg allowance for fillies, our starting point always has to be the highest rated horses in the field. It will always be unlikely in a race of this nature for a major surprise to be sprung.
Bella Nipotina is the best and most consistent mare in this field. Since running fifth in this race last year, she has won one Group 1 and been placed in four others, all of which have been at WFA against the boys. She’s drawn perfectly, and there should be just enough jar out of the track for her liking.
Marabi, Passive Aggressive and Seradess will provide the speed, which should ensure a genuine tempo and allow every horse to have their chance. Ben Melham will no doubt look to have Bella Nipotina about four pairs back, and she looks an each-way special from there.
