Racing returns to Sandown for the first time since late August, so we should be racing on a pristine surface. We’ve up to half a dozen stepping out there and a further eight at Warwick Farm.

3. Platinum Field | J: John AllenHe returns to the races third up after an improved effort last time out, crossing the line with Elba, who has come up favourite in this race. That runner gets a softer draw here and looks as if she will relish the step up in trip, but working in our favour is Johnny Allen in the saddle and having options from that draw.

6. Universally | J: Teo NugentIt’s difficult to say she’d have won with clear running on debut, but the 0.4 of a length margin would certainly have been smaller. The form has been franked, too, with a couple of winners since coming from that race. She’ll only improve from that, and we’re hopeful of a strong showing here on the big track.
