The unofficial start to the winter carnival continues this Saturday with three listed races at Doomben. It is a busy day for the stable with 14 runners across the day. Madame Odette lines up in the Princess Stakes and in the Mick Dittman Plate we have four runners which looks to be the race of the day.

12. Flensburg | J: Ms Angela JonesFlensburg gets out to the 2200m fourth up here. He was ridden a bit too close last start and a quieter ride will allow him to finish off a lot better. He gets in well with the claim and his best form is certainly good enough to win this.

9. Self Indulgent | J: Ms Cejay GrahamSecond up here after needing the run first up. She comes down slightly in grade and with Cejays 3KG claim, she is very well in at the weights. Although this field is big on numbers, it looks to be a race of only a few chances. If she can find her form from last preparation, she is certainly the one to beat.

1. Ef Troop | J: Ms Angela JonesHe resumes after a very good summer carnival. His trial last week was very sharp, and his work shows he is right up to the mark for this first up assignment. Angela knows him well and he only needs to hold his summer form to be very competitive in what is a very strong benchmark race.

6. Proper Rogue | J: Damien ThorntonSecond up here after a solid run at Eagle Farm last month. He has trialled since and gets back to Doomben, a track where he won all four of his races last preparation. He will improve here and if there is any rain around, that will bring him right into this tough race.

8. Salateen | J: Ryan MaloneyResumes after just missing out in the Nudgee Stakes here in December. She loves Doomben and races well fresh. Ryan will look to hold a midfield position from the good draw, and she will be flying late. She may be better suited over 1200m, but a win certainly wouldn’t shock after her work on Tuesday.

15. Shamrock Lu | J: Jim ByrneSecond up after a good run with a big weight fresh up. He gets down in the weights here and did win a similar race last preparation beating stable mate Ef Troop. If he can repeat that effort, he will be very competitive.

6. Aussie Nugget | J: Ben ThompsonResumes after a nice summer carnival preparation. He will likely need a few runs and a step up in distance to show his best. In saying that, his work has been sharp enough for a forward showing here.

7. Deer Trail | J: Kyle Wilson-taylorBack to the races after a short let up after a nice run behind All That Pizzazz in early March. He has trialled since and he gets to Doomben where he has won twice before. Drawn to get a nice run, he is good enough to be competitive here.

If Angela can get some luck from the wide draw, she will be there a long way. She is a very nice filly, and we are excited to get her back to the races.
